The Mu Nu Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt, publicly supported organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. The Foundation was formed on February 20, 2004 for the purpose of carrying out the charitable purposes of Mu Nu Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The Foundation sponsors the Mu Nu Chapter’s annual Achievement Week Program, Talent Hunt Program, the Chapter’s Social Action Committee, the Foundation also supports the George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy, Inc. and the Rudolph W. Snowden Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. The Past Basilei of Mu Nu Chapter serve as the Board of Directors for the Foundation.

Mu Nu Chapter observes Achievement Week by giving due recognition to our young African-American male high school students with a banquet for them. An Essay Contest is held in conjunction with Achievement Week observance. This contest is open to all Montgomery County college-bound high school seniors. Awards are presented to the winners, each of whom must submit an essay on a theme/topic chosen by the fraternity.

The Mu Nu Chapter's biggest fundraiser, formerly the Mardi Gra Ball, presents a new theme in 2009; the "Purple and Gold Gala"! Each year, people travel from far and wide to attend our signature spring event for fine dining, live entertainment, and formal attire fun. We have hosted Fraternity Executives, members of the County Council, State Government, and U.S. Congressmen.

The committee serves as the Chapter’s designated coordinating body responsible for management and oversight of key training and certifications for Chapter members, the review and approval of letters-of-interest (LOIs) for membership from prospective candidates, and the information and education processes for approved candidates. The committee also serves as the liaison body for the Chapter in activities and matters involving the Second District, and namely Corridor One, membership activities and related matters of interest, in accordance with Second District and International membership policies and guidance. Questions and LOIs should be directed to the Membership Selection Committee via postal mailing or e-mail.

Mu Nu Chapter involves itself collectively into the city, county, and state political processes through our Political Action Committee. We are involved in voter registration, "getting-out-the-vote," support of the NAACP, the National Urban League along with numerous other programs.

This Committee shall be responsible for locating and
archiving all items of fraternal importance held by fraternity members to ensure that all
items are returned to Fraternity upon the possessing brother’s death. The Committee shall
also be responsible for developing an appropriate arrangement of fraternity artifacts and
memorabilia for display at all Mu Nu Functions.

Coordinate Chapter’s relationship with the George B. Thomas
Learning Academy. Plan and coordinate one activity at each center to increase Chapter’s
presence in those communities.

Housing Committee, with the primary responsibility to develop plans and direct Chapter
involvement in projects leading toward acquisition of a Chapter House. The Committee
shall also develop and plan to ensure appropriate housing for chapter meetings and other
related activities.

To increase Mu Nu’s presence, awareness, and participation in
Montgomery County’s Pan Hellenic Council.

Will develop plans for a continuing Chapter effort to identify inactive
Brothers and to encourage them to become active members in the fellowship of Mu Nu.
The committee is also charged with developing and maintaining a listing of all nonfinancial
and inactive brothers in the County. In addition, the committee should
implement programs to renew the active participation of brothers identified in the
community. Emphasis is also focused on retaining these brothers after the committee has
rekindled their interest.

Strategic Planning Committee, with the responsibility to make recommendations on
mission, strategies, and policies for Mu Nu Chapter and monitor the progress of the
operating plan. In addition, the committee should plan and organize the Annual
Shirtsleeve Conference. The Committee shall be responsible for planning, site selection,
registration, entertainment, and program.

Ways & Means – Fiscal Management – Develop budget and internal cash flow plan.
Prepare revised budget and cash flow plan as requested by the Basileus. The Committee
shall also analyze existing and develop new programs of the Chapter to ensure they have
the proper funding to run efficiently and consistently.
